ACTIVITIES
1 . Project analysis and report including preliminary design
Review existing documentation and the Client’s IT requirements
Calculate and model power requirements based on today’s and projected IT requirement
Review locations and advise on the most suitable/cost-effective where this has not already been confirmed by the Client
Calculate required sizing of the new data centre
Review building design and location in terms of defence against flooding and local EMC risks
Review TIA 942 resilience tiering, e.g. Tier 1 to 4 and N, N+1 design etc.
Options will be analysed and discussed with Client on a cost/benefit/risk/resilience basis
The basic layout and design will be agreed at this stage

3. Detailed technical tender
The computer room and associated facilities will be designed to a level where a tender can be issued for specialist companies to bid for the work against a common design set.
